According to recent rumors, Xiaomi is set to unveil the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro in October. These models are poised to be the first smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC.
A new leak from the reputable source Digital Chat Station has provided insights into the main camera specifications of these upcoming devices. Both the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro will reportedly be equipped with a customized OmniVision 50 MP primary camera, boasting a 1/1.3″ sensor size. While the exact aperture size remains undisclosed, it is described as being notably large.
Additionally, the phones will feature a new multi-layer anti-reflection coating on their lenses. This technology improves light transmittance and minimizes glare and ghosting, potentially enhancing photo quality.
In a notable upgrade, the Xiaomi 15 Pro may include a periscope telephoto lens, a feature previously reserved for Xiaomi’s Ultra series. This could signify a significant advancement in the photographic capabilities of the Pro model.
