Xiaomi 15 Launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite, 50MP Leica Triple Cameras, and a 5,400mAh Battery

Xiaomi has officially launched its most advanced compact flagship yet, the Xiaomi 15, touting it as the brand’s strongest standard edition to date. This model packs high-end specifications into a sleek, compact design, combining enhanced performance, a premium display, and a refined feel to appeal to flagship smartphone enthusiasts.

Xiaomi 15 Specifications

Featuring a 6.36-inch flat OLED screen, the Xiaomi 15 showcases ultra-narrow, symmetrical bezels of just 1.38mm. The display has a resolution of 2670×1200, a variable refresh rate ranging from 1-120Hz using LTPO technology, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits with DC dimming at full brightness. Its Dragon Crystal Glass, exclusive to Xiaomi, provides a tenfold increase in drop resistance over the Xiaomi 14.

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, delivering a 45% increase in single-core and multi-core performance over the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Supported by Xiaomi’s HyperCore and a proprietary microarchitecture scheduler, the Xiaomi 15 offers a 45.7% faster app launch response time, elevating the overall user experience.

Operating on the new HyperOS 2.0, the Xiaomi 15 introduces system refinements designed to optimize performance, especially in thermal management, tailored to this compact model.

Xiaomi has partnered with Leica for the Xiaomi 15’s camera system, which includes three 50MP Summilux lenses: a Light Fusion 900 main sensor (1/1.3″, f/1.62, with OIS), a Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide sensor (f/2.2), and a Samsung S5KJN5 telephoto lens (1/2.75″, f/2.0, with OIS) offering 5x optical zoom and floating focus. The front camera is a 32MP OmniVision OV32B40 sensor, housed in a center punch-hole design, with AISP 2.0, enabling processing speeds of up to 4.3 billion pixels per second for rapid social media sharing.

The device features a 5,400mAh battery, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, alongside 30W magnetic wireless charging.

Security is enhanced with Goodix Technology’s ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, offering quick and accurate unlocking—even with wet hands. The Xiaomi 15 is built with an aviation-grade unibody aluminum frame with a four-curve wrap-around design for improved grip and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Long-standing features like NFC and an infrared remote control are also included.
